Makes ya wanna think.

Mid-February Walks

We’re having a classic Wisconsin Winter in Polk County. We’ve had two feet of snow on the ground for the past month and it’s been periodically renewed to keep it gorgeous. I used snowshoes to beat down the trails after the big fall and we usually stay on tracks we’ve walked on before. When we do go off trail we generally follow deer tracks because breaking a new trail is a struggle.

I love having a camera again. Here’s a slideshow of the last few day’s walks – brilliant cold days:

Ruffed Grouse Tracks

I’m feeling optimistic about Hel’s Bet after Keith Kleiner’s reaction.
